College Support Staff ratify tentative agreement
October 2, 2008 – Support staff at Ontario’s 24 Community Colleges ratified the tentative deal in a vote held today on campuses all across the province.

September 29, 2008 – Support staff working in Ontario"s 24 community colleges are set to vote on a tentative deal reached on Aug. 31.
If the deal is rejected either side must give five days notice of a strike or lockout.
The vote, scheduled by the Ministry of Labour, will take place on Thursday at all community colleges across the province.
College Support Workers Memorandum of Settlement
September 11, 2008 – Support workers are scheduled to vote on a tentative deal on Oct. 2. Complete details of deal are outlined in the memorandum of settlement.
If ratified the three-year deal, will provide support staff at the 24 colleges with a wage increase of nearly four per cent in the first year, and three per cent in each of the next two.
The agreement also includes groundbreaking language on bullying and harassment. This language is vital in dealing with behaviour that could be regarded as intimidating, offensive, degrading or humiliating. This language will help prevent behaviour that affects the dignity, psychological integrity, physical integrity of members and harmful work environments.
College Support Ratification vote Oct. 2
September 5, 2008 – College support members will vote on ratification of the new tentative agreement on Oct. 2. Vote locations and times will be similar to those for the strike vote held in July. More details including the memorandum of settlement and other documentation will be available soon.

College Support Staff reach tentative agreement
August 31, 2008 – TORONTO – Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) representing college support staff and the College Compensation and Appointment Council representing the 24 colleges in Ontario, announced today that a tentative agreement has been reached averting a possible province-wide strike.
A ratification vote conducted by the Ministry of Labour will be held in the near future, when terms of the agreement will be released.

August 28, 2008 – Support staff set up information pickets today at colleges across Ontario as negotiations continue for 7,000 workers, who could strike Monday if a deal is not reached.

Ontario community college support staff reject contract offer, authorize a strike
July 16, 2008 – More than 6,500 support staff at 24 Ontario community colleges authorized a possible strike, turning down the college’s contract offer in a province-wide vote July 10 and 16.

July 10th was the first of two votes being held for members to vote on the employer"s last offer and give the bargaining team a strike mandate. Voting will continue on July 16th at all Ontario Community Colleges. Vote results will be counted after the polls close on the 16th.
