Therefore be it resolved that the Solidarity Reserve Fund provide up to $5,000 for legal expenses that are incurred by the member in a civil suit with the disability insurer on the conditions that: 1) the member’s lawyer charge reasonable rates as confirmed by OPSEU counsel; and 2) that the member’s lawyer make reasonable efforts to recover legal costs for the member and OPSEU as part of any settlement or judgment.
