Canadian Blood Services Support workers with OPSEU have a new two-year collective agreement including a two per cent general wage increase each year.

Further gains include job security improvements for part-time employees as well as guaranteed hours. Job posting improvements are part of the new language, as is the establishment of a Provincial Labour Management Table to help with any significant workplace changes.

"Congratulations to the bargaining team for all of their hard work, and thanks to all of the members who supported their team as they negotiated this deal on their behalf," said OPSEU President, Warren (Smokey) Thomas.  "This new collective agreement offers strong wage improvements and some important new language to ensure progress is made with key issues in the workplace."

Negotiations lasted more than a year, and the two teams met 22 times during the process. The agreement was ratified on Friday, January 25, 2013.
