Wear the wristband: It says you care about Developmental Services

Get your “…because we care” wristband today! Your Local President will be distributing free wristbands starting this week. Make sure you get yours, and wear it with pride

We call on Finance Minister, Dwight Duncan, to provide the funding the sector needs to provide good jobs in our communities.

We call on Madeleine Meilleur, Minister of Community and Social Services (COMSOC) to respect working people and make good jobs a priority.

OPSEU IS COMMITTED AND WILLING TO GET BACK TO THE PROVINCIAL DISCUSSION TABLE. WE MUST PUT PRESSURE ON THE ONTARIO GOVERNMENT TO ACT NOW!

Developmental Services providers are here for you and your loved ones, and our communities.

We are residential counselors, residential, vocational, and community support workers, instructors, case managers, administrative workers, office and clerical workers, registered practical nurses, social workers, psychologists, maintenance workers, cooks, housekeepers, drivers and more. We are dedicated to the work we do, and passionate about providing quality services to the people we support.

We are standing in solidarity …because we care

We care about the important work we do, and we know the services we provide are critical to the quality of life of so many of our community members. We deserve dependable, full-time permanent work with decent wages. There are more than 8000 developmental services workers in Ontario, serving 48,000 children and adults. We stand in solidarity with each other and with our community members, and demand to have our voices heard.
