Made in the USA screening in St. Thomas
The St. Thomas and District Labour Council hosted a special screening of the movie that is haunting Tim Hudak. The first hour of their meeting on Tuesday, October 16 was given to showing and discussing Made in the USA.
Labour Council President David Kerr, who is also an OPSEU retiree and former Local 115 President, hosted the event. "Our executive, delegates and members are appalled by Hudak's plans," said Kerr. OPSEU local Presidents Kim McDowell and Steve Abdey also attended.
A recent St. Thomas newspaper article addresses Tory anti-union ideas, and Kerr responded in the comments mentioning the movie screening and noting that "Union organizations led the way in increasing the minimum wage for all workers".
