The Toronto Star/North York ‘The Mirror’ is reporting on OPSEU/SEFPO’s reaction to Sunnybrook Hospital’s decision to increase paid sick days for hospital staff to a total of 10, improving upon the three paid sick days provided by the government.
“This is very encouraging to see and I hope more employers step up like this,” OPSEU/SEFPO President Warren (Smokey) Thomas is quoted in the article. “Sunnybrook is setting an example that other employers must follow.”
The decision from Sunnybrook to provide an additional seven paid sick days for its staff came a few days after OPSEU/SEFPO’s announcement that all full-time staff would be granted 10 paid sick days for the duration of the pandemic.
